Moog FCS started out in 1995 as the medical division of Moog FCS. Aiming on a diversification of the Moog FCS force-loop applications in the medical industry, three projects formed the basis of Moog FCS. The below-mentioned projects eventually led to the development of a generic haptic device, the HapticMASTER.?

Two 1 degree of freedom trocar simulators in a master-slave setup (see picture) proved the superior quality of haptic feedback based on admittance control. The ‘sense of piercing’ is completely transferred from the slave to the master and the ‘power to pierce’ is completely transferred from the master to the slave.?
